The Stadtkirche built in 812 was the site of a wedding the last time we were in Schlitz. The entire wedding party was dressed in native costume as were about 100 guests of the couple. We were able to watch the wedding and join in the street celebration following the ceremony. It was something I'll never forget.Quick Tips: Be sure not to miss the Hinterburg with its wonderful tower which at Christmas time is lit up like a candle, Vorderburg with its wonderful belltower, and especially the Heimatmuseum. We were pleasantly surprised when we tried the specialty of the house. It was a very warm day and ice cream would 'hit the spot.' Well, imagine vanilla ice cream with hot raspberry sauce. It was absolutely delicious. They serve the traditional German fare, but we were only interested in ice cream so we did not try a full meal, however the plates that were passing by our table on their way to other customers looked hearty and delicious.

Boy, these Germans really know how to make pizza. We ordered one with just onion and peppers and it was delicious. The beer served with the pizza was a Schlitz malt liquor made right there in town. It was a great meal.
