The casinos are mostly found near the Virginia Street area. Yes, Casinos are the draw to the towns but the natural wonders around the area will keep you thrilled. Reno's setting at the bottom of Sierra Nevada is priceless. The Truckee River just adds to the beauty. Be sure to visit Donner's Pass, Sugarbowl, Truckee, Mt. Rose area and Squaw Valley. I personally like to visit the area in the winter. There are several excellent Ski areas close by.

Quick Tips:

There are several big casinos for adults and one for family fun, Circus Circus. The arcade is fun and the high flying acts are fun to watch.

Reno's is also known for quickie weddings and even quickie divorce courts. If your in the market to get married, the full service wedding chapels will help you plan it all, whatever your budget may be.

Best Way To Get Around:

Reno's airport is user-friendly. A car is a good idea if you are going to venture outside Reno.

This resort on Lake Tahoe's quiet north shore gets it’s name as a result of the cabin straddling the California and Nevada state line. The original Cal-Neva Lodge was built in 1926. The resort has had several owners, including Frank Sinatra. He had the famous Celebrity Showroom constructed to showcase celebrity entertainment, including himself and his friends. The Lodge has over 200 lakeview rooms. There are also cabins and chalets, which have spectular views of Lake Tahoe. The casino is located on the Nevada side of the resort.

I found this great place while driving around and exploring Reno. I had a great time looking at the exhibits and watching the star shows. I loved the gift shop.

This is a popular place in Reno and it's easy to see why. Beside the wonderful huge casino, the Eldorado offers so much more, including 10 restaurants. There is always something special going on here. The BuBinga club is the place in Reno to come and dance and drink.

Mt Rose view
This is truly a special place. The areas surrounding the largest alpine lake in the country offer a traveler plenty to do and see whatever season they come in. The many casinos on the south part of the lake are known for their entertainment, excellent restaurants, and as great places to have fun.

We enjoyed a lake cruise on the M.S. Dixie. In the winter, the cruises are different but still a wonderful family thing to do. We took a few snowmobile tours and did a lot of skiing. We visited the ski areas of Heavenly and Northstar. We drove up to site of the 1960 Winter Olympics, Squaw Valley USA. We spent a day there and had a blast. Be sure to ride the cable car.
