Quote: Resort 1132. We had no idea the two-bedroom unit included its own boat dock! The condo had a 100-foot deck on the main floor, and a large deck on the upper floor. Visit Fossil Rim Wildlife Park, and book a behind the scene tour.

We were in an open-air jeep-like vehicle. The seats were padded, and there was a canvas roof, that kept the sun off of us. It was quite comfortable. The guide provided us each with a cup of food. Most of the animals could be fed by hand. We fed the ostrich out of the cup, though. On the behind the scenes tour, we got to see cheetah and endangered canines. The guide was quite friendly and knowledgeable.

We were all excited to go, but it was actually small and uninteresting. The museum was under construction -- maybe it will be better someday.

There were lots of hiking trails along the river. It was fun crossing the river on wobbly rocks. There were fields of blue bonnets while we were there. There were two large dinosaur statues that my son thought were cool and a store with great prices that I thought was cool. Oh yes, and all those fossils and dinosaur tracks!

We had a guided tour with just our family. We had a lovely ride along the Brazos river, and our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. One of her mares had foaled that morning and we got to see the baby. She let us stop to take pictures and even took a picture of all of us together. The horses were big, healthy, and beautiful.

The cost was $25 per hour for adults and $18 per hour for kids. Tel: (254) 897-7045.

Right off the main drag was Big Rock Park. It is an area of massive boulders next to the river and shallow water made it good for wading. The rocks were lots of fun to climb and jump between.
