Best Things About the Resort:
The lake at your doorstep, the people, and the relaxing gentle area. Coming from a large city, it was nice to be able to just drive without traffic.
Resort Experience:
This is a nice quiet area with lots to do. We spent a few days driving around visiting small towns. There was Ottawa an hour away with lots of activities from museums, government buildings, shopping, walking and biking trails, sports, and theaters.
In the resort area, there is (depending on the season), skiing, snow mobiling, hunting, fishing, golf, arts and crafts, shopping and maple sugar bushes. The resort had an indoor pool with a hot tub. The view was great. An exercise room was available too.
On the second floor, there was a lounge and a wonderful quiet reading room. It had a stone fireplace, shelves of books in case you forgot yours, comfy seating, and huge windows overlooking the lake. I sat there one afternoon, read, and watched the rain and the waves on the lake.
The restaurant attached, The Duck, is a must try.
