Kauai paradise

A November 2003 trip to Kauai by jo-ni

This is a beautiful resort with many amenities and great walking trails to nearby beaches. The luau and the pool are resort hightlights. The snack bar is very good, especially for kids.

Best Things Nearby:
Poipu Beach Park (for snorkeling), Shipwreck Beach (for body boarding), sunsets on the cliffs, and great restaurants minutes away.

Best Things About the Resort:
My family enjoyed the beautiful pool and Jacuzzi every night. There was a very good snack bar and decent luau with free food and drinks, great views from balcony, and secluded walks along the cliffs (we often saw whales, turtles, and dolphins).

Resort Experience:
Take a walk in the morning and watch the turtles swim and feed along the cliffs. Stroll to the Hyatt next door and spend time at Shipwreck Beach -- gorgeous!! Walk down along the cliffs to see the sun rise OR set. Our view from the unit was exceptional. We had a 180-degree view of the Pacific and waves crashing on the rocks.

Attraction | "Snorkeling"

I have snorkeled in many places and this site is among the finest for clarity, ease of entry from the beach, and the amount of fish and coral formations. Currents can be strong, so be aware of the conditions.
