Quote: We just loved the Allegro Punta Cana. The food was first rate and we've never seen such an extensive buffet. Guest Services treated us like royalty. The beach was one of the nicest I've seen. Our excursion to Saona Island was fun. And we brought some fabulous Dominican Blue coffee home.

Best Things Nearby:Beach.Best Things About the Resort:Very clean. Casual, friendly service. Great food.Resort Experience:Our room was newly renovated. Housekeeping did a wonderful job and we loved all the fresh flowers and decoration done to the room every day. The beach and pool were kept very clean, with good towel service too. Getting a shady spot is a bit tricky in season. Lots of people "reserved" their pool or beach chairs by placing towels and personal items on them at dawn. This open-air dining room was so welcoming. The casual and elegant decor was very comfortable. I have never been to such a huge buffet. Name it and they had it. For breakfast, lunch, and dinner, there was always something new and something for everyone. The grill was amazing. Theme nights were fun. And with four reservation restaurants, dining at this resort never gets dull.

I just wanted to tell all my fellow Canadian travellers that a great way to go to DR is through an Air Canada Vacation. The value is really good. We went in-season and still considered this a bargain compared to other trips we've been on. It was a nice short/direct flight from Dorval to Punta Cana. An added bonus is the Air Canada rep at the hotel who will help with your excursion booking.

I recommend you bring US dollars though. They only exchange Canadian currency for the local peso and no one wants them. Even US travellers checks are hard to cash. Enjoy the photos of our trip to Saona Island. . .
