Americans in Cork

Overview

Quote:
On St Patrick's Day, they have a huge parade that storms through Cork, which is a very colourful and cultural sights. The nightlife afterwards is great with loads of people from around the world hanging out in town and pubs.

Quick Tips:

Don't forget the headache medicine and try the cider. If you are a Guiness fan, try the Beamish, as you cannot get it anywhere else (with a few exceptions).

Best Way To Get Around:

Walking. Everywhere in the city centre it will take about 10 minuetes to get to. If you feel like you are unware of where you are (it happened to me), grab a cab. Renting a car is pointless unless you plan on going to see places like Blarney or Youghal.

The food was really nice here. I ordered a vegetarian dish. I was REALLY good. Everyone I was sitting with was extremely happy with their food. They have a variety of food there. The staff was very on top of things and catered to us in a prompt and friendly manner.

An Brog

Restaurant

The Brog is good for night when you don't want people staring at you because of what you are wearing. A variety of people go to this place from spikes and mohawks to surfer dudes. Everybody generally gets along here.

The music is very neutral and pints are at a fairly good price. Most everyone who comes to Cork goes to the Brog at least once.

The art gallery is really beautiful and is one of places you must go if you are coming to Cork. They have a variety of art inside, some of the most stunning art, and they serve lunch. It is very close to shopping in town and is something you must do if you are hanging around the city for the day.
