A December 2003 trip to Lake Tahoe by cjwain1

What a beautiful journey. Snowmobiling, snowboarding, skiing, dinner on the lake, amazing sunsets and rises, and awesome, breathtaking sights. A week before Christmas was the best time as traffic was light. Stayed right on the lake, but didn't see Nessie. Next time!

Tahoe Winter Fun

Overview

Snowmobiling for the first time. Downtown Truckee's Mexican restaurant. Casinos for live comedy shows. BUY a lesson to learn how to cross-country ski or snowmobile.

Quick Tips:

If at all possible, go the week before everyone else. It is so much more relaxing.

Best Way To Get Around:

Subaru.

Attraction

We saw Paula Poundstone in concert. She was so funny. Reno is also beautiful in the snow-covered blankets of winter, where everything is peaceful and right. It's a nice drive from Tahoe and the show made our aching muscles feel much better.
