South Lake Tahoe

A February 2004 trip to California by Lizthemaster

Quote: South Lake Tahoe is one of the most beautiful places on this earth. With California on one side with the scenery, shops, sites, etc, and Nevada on the other with the casinos, it has just about everything you want.

Lake Tahoe Vacation Resort

Hotel | "Embassy Vacation Resort"

Quote:
The Embassy is and has been known for being a great and expensive place to stay. Most people find it very hard to get a reservation there, and if they did, it's normally expensive. It's a really nice place to stay as you have everything you need either in the resort or very close to you. The location and resort seem to be a perfect fit.

Sugar Bowl Ski Resort

Attraction | "Snowboarding"

Quote:
For snowboarders, they have everything you could possibly want (half pipe, tubes, etc). They have a race slope that is used for competions, but is open to the public when there are none going on. I thought it was brilliant. The snow was good at that time, and every time I go to Lake Tahoe, I usually end up at Sugar Bowl. It's a sweet place to go.

During the summer, you can camp on the lake, and the weather is beautiful up there. Because of preservation laws, the lake is nice and clean and extremely blue. You can hop on the ferry and go across the lake and it is the funnest thing to do with the best views of the mounta...Read More
