Sleepy village on Pangandaran Beach

A February 2000 trip to Pangandaran by traveling mama

Quote: I spent one week with my family at this wonderful sleepy fishing village town called Pangandaran Beach.

Sleepy village on Pangandaran Beach

Overview

Quote:
The best part of visiting this quiet beach area is that it is totally off the beaten path. It is quiet and affordable for those on a tight budget. The views are lovely, sights are plentiful, food good.

Quick Tips:

I would suggest renting motorcycles and sightseeing. You can see many remote beaches and the national park. There are monkey forest and wild animals to see. Tip: get a guide.

Best Way To Get Around:

We loved geting around the beach by way of a Bacheck-- that is a man pedaling you around on a bike with a really cute little compartment you ride in.

Simple and clean. We had a nice view of the beach and a balcony. The rooms were small, neat and comfortable. The restaurant had a kitchen and room service available. There are private mandis and safety deposite boxes available.

Outdoor Fish Market

Restaurant

Quote:
Once you arrive at the fish market you will select your live fish, which will be cooked and seasoned as you request. Then, you will eat outdoors (warung style) or take your savory delights back to your hotel. The fish is very fresh and good, try the shrimp. It's great. We ate here 6 out of 7 nights.

Pananjung Park Beach

Attraction | "Penanjung Park Beach"

Quote:
The best way to describe the beaches are paradise, much better than Bali's beaches. Clean and carefree. It is like a dream, with rock formations, waterfalls and jade colored stones. The beach is really quiet and secluded most of the time.

Buying Batiks from Hotel Balconies

Attraction | "Buying batiks from the hotel balcony"

Quote:
It was really easy to get a hold of great batiks. While I was sitting on my hotel balcony, I was able to buy from people selling their wares along the beach. They were freindly and easy to buy from. The batiks were really colorful and a good buy for those on a budget.
