A March 2004 trip to Kauai by aburchett

Quote: Kauai is one of the last remaining places on earth that still qualifies as paradise. It is a great place to visit, even when it rains all week.

Excellent gourmet selections including vegetarian and seafood. Service was great and the setting is perfect in the beautiful town of Hanalei Bay. Of all the great places to dine on Kauai, this was our favorite. Other places had more of a view, but this one is definitely the best for food, service and ambience.

Anyone going to Kauai, cannot say they saw the island unless they went on a helicopter tour. You can't drive to the best parts of the island with any type of vehicle. The tour takes you inside Mt. Walieale (the wettest spot on earth), where you see dozens of beautiful waterfalls, then through the Waimea Canyon, which Mark Twain labeled "Grand Canyon of the Pacific," then up the famous and treacherous, but astoundingly beautiful, Na Pali Coastline. This tour alone is worth the trip there. We took the Heli-USA tour that leaves out of Princeville airport.

Don't miss this if you go to Kauai.
