A November 2000 trip
to Kherson by mays9charles
Quote: I took a train to Kherson from Kiev and stayed at Hotel Frigat for two days.
There is also large banquet room where breakfast is served at 9am. The desk is open 24 hours a day, but not all clerks speak English. However, the hotel does provide a translator, who is quite helpful. She helped me make phone calls and purchased bus tickets to Odessa for me. Also, she invited me to a party in her office with friends after she got off work where we drank cognac and ate chocolates.
The hotel is located near the banks of the Dnieper River and is within easy walking distance of the cultural district of Kherson where there are parks, theatres, internet cafes, and various restaurants serving a wide variety of dishes.

There are beautiful tree lined parks here including Lenin Park where there is still a statue of Lenin. The theatre has plays and ballet and there is the Museum of Fine Arts with Ukrainian and Russian paintings from last three centuries.
