Second Honeymoon in Acapulco

A March 2004 trip to Acapulco by gflhr

The weather was amazing during our trip in March. Definitely take the bus, which only cost four pesos, as taxi drivers and citizens are extremely bad drivers. There's lots of sightseeing and activites to do.

Resort Experience:
This is a beautiful hotel. However, it is located off the main strip and you have to climb a pretty steep hill, so you must definitely use a taxi to get back up. You could climb down. There were too many restrictions: no children; pool closes at 8pm; restaurant only served lunch and breakfast, and room service was limited to breakfast; no beach access (you are given a pass to another hotel's beach access, but they do not allow you to use their beach towels); and since we made our reservations via RCI, we were given a very small room located at the highest point of the hill, which is very difficult if you have knee problems. There were great spa services, though, that were reasonably priced.

Restaurant

This place is very affordable. There are daily specials, including a meal of soup, bread, main entree, dessert, and a drink for less than $10. They serve good authentic food and the service is very friendly. The restaurant is clean (we never got sick because of the food) and air conditioned.

Attraction | "Cliff Drivers"

This is a must see. If possible, dine at the restaurant to see the show. The food is delicious and you watch the show by candlelight. They do have shows thoroughout the day, too.
