Our First Trip to Ormond Beach FL

A February 2004 trip to Ormond Beach by DianeNYS

Quote: Our first trip to our new timeshare was GREAT! We are planning on going back to the Casa Del Mar year after year (for upstate New Yorkers, awakening to a morning view--right off our bedroom deck--of dolphins frolicking in the surf was a real treat!).

Our First Trip to Ormond Beach FL

Overview

Quote:
The BEACH!!! We went sightseeing all around Daytona Beach, St. Augustine, and the beautiful Florida countryside! We enjoyed the Daytona Flea Market and the Sanford/Mt. Dora Flea Market. We watched the dolphins playing in the surf from our oceanfront deck every morning.

Quick Tips:

There is a B.J.'s Wholesale Club with a discount gas station, on the way to Sanford Mt. Dora (just off Route 4).

Best Way To Get Around:

In the Ormond Beach area, if you want to do all the stuff WE did, you REALLY need your own (or rented) car.

Oh yeah. . . and dolphins playing in the surf each morning!Best Things About the Resort:It was a low-key, happy place. The staff was always friendly and helpful. Our unit was large, clean, and had a GREAT oceanfront view.Resort Experience:It felt GREAT there! My husband awoke early each morning and took a walk along the beach while the sun was rising, looking for shells. He was able to get his morning coffee free in the lobby and a free morning paper after his beach walk. Each morning, I awoke to starfish and shells on the kitchen table! We stayed in a two-bedroom unit (#219), which was one of the best locations in the resort, overlooking the pool area and beachfront. It was also one of the best two-bedroom units there, very large with a lot privacy for both bedrooms. The second bedroom had a very large and completely adequate bathroom just across from the bedroom door (there is a closet with a safe in that bathroom--the safe is free to owners; a minimal cost for others--$10 for the week, I believe). The master bedroom was amazing! There was a wonderful deck with chairs...Read More
