A March 2004 trip to Panama City by lurla

This was our first trip to Panama City Beach, Florida. We went deep-sea fishing, went to the dog track, and did other touristy things. . .

Very nice ambience and good food and service. The sourdough bread was excellent! This a local steakhouse restaurant in business for many years.

We had a great time. However, being the first week of March, it was still cool and windy. Be sure to bring a jacket. If you are at all prone to seasickness, be sure to take some medication!

Rods and reels and bait were provided. Note -- the rods and reels were extremely heavy. The deck hands were very helpful -- taking the fish off the hooks and making sure that the equipment was working properly.

We caught a lot of fish, but unfortunately didn't get to keep many. We caught several red snapper, but the season doesn't open until April 1, so we had to throw them back.

There was a bonus, though. Four dolphins played around the boat, and came up and ate the fish we threw back!!
