I love the Sonora Desert Museum. We have gone many times and each time I am more and more amazed at the beauty and variety of desert life that the museum showcases. The hummingbird exhibit is amazing. You enter this large netted area and just have a seat on one of the benches among the flowers, trees, feeders, and bushes. Then almost out of nowhere the birds appear and fit and flutter all around the feeders and flowers.
The prairie dog exhibit is one of the more entertaining exhibits at the museum. The exhibit is set up so you can watch the prairie dogs both above and below ground. Besides being educational, the prairie dogs are just adorable. There are lots of other wildlife exhibits along with exhibits that showcase the local vegetation of the desert.
