Byzance and its beauties

A January 2004 trip to Istanbul by ecsethia

Istanbul is a gorgeous city--no city matches its grandeur.

You haven't lived till you've cruised over the Bosphorus at night. The vestiges of four empires are magnificent, especially seen from the golden horn.

Quick Tips:

Hold onto your bag, you never know who might snatch it off and run away with it.

Best Way To Get Around:

Public transportation is very cheap but can get very crowded. Cabs are also cheap, as long as you keep in mind that Istanbuls traffic is hectic.
If you aren't looking for something too classy, and if you're into clubbing and bars and want to stay in a flat in the heart of the city, do not hesitate to opt for this flat hotel. Keep in mind that it can be very noisey since its close to big nightclubs.

The Turkish night clubbing experience is generaly ended by a great durum at Kizilkayalar durum shop. A couple of durum shops are situated on that on the same corner than kizilkayalar but do not be fooled :)
