Best Things Nearby:Everything was close ... groceries, the beach, restaurants were all within a few minutes' drive.Best Things About the Resort:It's RIGHT on the beach at 21st, which is about the center of the beach.Resort Experience:The unit was nice, clean and well furnished, though a little small. It had two air-conditioning units with remote controls, one in the living room and one in the bedroom. The bedroom had an ocean view. The unit had a functional kitchen and a dinette. The Purple Cow is an adventure! It has '50s-style atmosphere. The food is good and the waitstaff are pleasant and attentive. Be sure to try the purple ice cream.

The beach is gorgeous. It has nice white sand and clean blue water. One afternoon a pod of dolphins went swimming by.

The waves make for a lot of fun bodysurfing. When we visited, the surfing championships were taking place at the end of the beach.

There is a shop to rent jet skis, although we thought it was on the expensive side. There are also places for parasailing.

There is a 2-mile-long bike path that runs alongside the beach.

Attraction | "Go-Karting"

Quote:
This is a large go-kart facility with multiple tracks and kart styles. The price was reasonable. My kids (boys 15 and 16) and I enjoyed the tracks but were hoping for a bit more. We spent a few hours here one afternoon and would most likely return again.

Virginia Beach & Boardwalk

Attraction | "Biking the Board Walk"

Quote:
The bike path is an asphalt route that runs parallel to the board walk. The route is flat and smooth. There are water fountains all along the route and places to stop for a snack or ice cream. It's a safe route for the entire family, we saw young children with training wheels, so bring your bikes! You do have to watch out for pedestrians and rental buggies. The rental buggies hold four to six adults and are pedal powered. They move slowly and some people aren't very good at steering them.
