Berkshire Beach Club Retreat

A September 2002 trip to Deerfield Beach by Toni F

This is a small resort with a great family atmosphere. Our room was a spacious one-bedroom with a great view. It was dated but clean, with a king-size bed and a queen sleeper sofa. This is a resort where you can relax and not stress over missed activities.

We enjoyed having the pool deck to ourselves most of the time. The people who were there were friendly and were good with the kids. The unit was a nice size one-bedroom with a king-size bed and a sleeper sofa. There were two TVs and well-stocked kitchen. The unit was dated but clean, and the pool deck was kept very clean. The beach was great. The best part about the resort is the view and the beach. It was the most relaxing vacation we have ever been on.

Quick Tips:

This resort is not for those seeking excitement with lots of activities. There are no planned activities or game room. The pool and the beach are the only amenities. We loved it because we felt that we could send our kids to the room to go the bathroom and not have to go with them because we could see them the go in the room. It was so nice not having to listen to "it's my turn to push the button" for the elevator. We got lots of exercise and the kids slept great at night. We enjoyed putting our kids to bed and sitting out on the balcony enjoying the evening.

Best Way To Get Around:

This resort is within walking distance to the pier by either beach or sidewalks on the street side. The city of Deerfield has a great walking path that goes along the side of the beach with mile markers on the path. There are restaurants within walking distance and Fort Lauderdale is only a 15-minute drive for lots of shops and entertainment.
Best Things Nearby:
City of Deerfield Beach has a great walking path that follows around the beach with mile markers. Fort Lauderdale is only 15 minutes away where there is all kinds of shopping and restaurants. We really enjoyed the Jungle Cruise - a ride through "Little Venice" to a private island where you are served dinner and watch a show (kids really liked it). You can also take a water taxi around and visit shops and eating places.

Best Things About the Resort:
QUIET! Very relaxing with no stressful rush here and rush there. Sit back and enjoy the view, the beach, the pool.

Resort Experience:
This is a small resort with only 13 units. It has two floors with no elevator. The pool is the right size for the resort and we had it to ourselves most of the time. We had a spacious one-bedroom unit with a great view. There was a king-size bed and queen sleeper sofa. The unit was dated but clean with a well-stocked kitchen. There was a small patio on our unit, but not all second-floor units have a balcony. It was a quiet and relaxing vacation with no stress. There are no activities at this resort and no game room. There is a large pool deck with lots of lounge chairs and tables. The grounds are well kept. There is a coin laundry located on the first floor. The beach is awesome and our family had the best vacation ever.
