A March 2004 trip to New London by lindaduffy

This inn is a wonderful historic place, beautifully decorated, two great restaurants. The hospitality and graciousness of the entire staff was outstanding. From the first phone call to the final goodbye, we were made to feel especially welcome and cared for. An outstanding staff and a lovely spot!

Overview

There are many things to do in this area, all within a few miles. We went to the Coast Guard Academy and attended a wonderful free concert on Sunday. We also went to the Mystic Seaport and to the Mystic Aquarium on two other days. The aquarium is one of the best we've been to.

There are two large casinos nearby which other guests told us about and thoroughly enjoyed.

Antiques abound in this area and we found lots to see and enjoy!

Quick Tips:

Just driving around in this area is very enjoyable. There are lovely old homes and great views of the Sound.

However, "our" Inn room was such a beautiful spot that we particularly enjoyed sitting and reading in such a lovely setting.

Best Way To Get Around:

We drove most of the time because we hit some unexpected bad weather. Directions were easy to follow and roads well marked.

Our room was exquisite. It had a large canopy bed, a lovely armoire with a TV and DVD player, a very comfortable couch, two swivel armchairs and lots of room to store our things. There were four large windows in the room, and a great view of the Sound.

The bathroom had a dressing area with plenty of room for two.
