Restaurant

The Alvino restaurant is a great place with very good food and excellent prices, it is right downstairs and it is one of the best places to taste wine in the city. I would recommend you the lamb Mexican style ribs.

ALVINO
What appeared to be a boring business trip became a great vacation in the place that I could never imagine would be a great place to visit: Mexico City. Located about two blocks from the US Embassy and one block from the Independence Angel, in the most secure area of Mexico City, the Galerias Resort has great accommodations, air-conditioning, a great look on the outside, an amazing restaurant, a small but very complete gym, an outdoor pool, and a smaller heated pool.

The hotel is located right in the middle of the Zona Rosa. There are about four discos within one block from the hotel and two malls at less than three blocks away. I really recommend a vacation here -- it was not supposed to be a vacation for me, but it became the most fun business trip I have ever had. I will return here again!

The restaurant, located in the lower part of the building, is called Alvino and it is one of the best places in the city to taste the best wines in the world; they serve you wine for free with any food you order, and the prices are very good for the kinds of food they serve and the great service.

Walking out of the building, just in the right corner, there is a great restaurant called the Steak and Lobster Place, which would probably be your best choice if you wanted to eat a lot of good food, no matter the price.

Two blocks from the resort, on the Hamburgo Street, is what Mexicans call Cocina Económica (Economic Food), where, for 40 pesos (about US$4), you get soup, rice, spaghetti, and your choice of about six different meals, like chicken, steak, shrimp, pork, and lamb (which is the one I would recommend most). It was the cheapest, best food I have ever tasted in my life.
