Snowy Days in Spirit Lake

An April 2003 trip to Spirit Lake by polythene pam

Last April, we went to Sunrise Cove at Village West in Spirit Lake, IA. It was very nice. There were lots of activities and the children's pool was a huge plus. It was too cold for us to use the beach, but I'm sure it would be great in the summertime.

The resort offered many activities, including indoor/outdoor miniature golf, an arcade, a FREE small cinema, a beach, and an indoor/outdoor pool with an indoor children's pool and a large hot tub area. We would really enjoy going back in the summertime.

Quick Tips:

There were no Teflon skillets to cook with, so we bought one at Wal-Mart. There is very little room for storing clothing; however, we did have a washer/dryer.

Best Way To Get Around:

We drove, so we had a car. I would suggest a car to appreciate the surroundings. Wal-Mart was close and easy to find. There were also a couple of nice family restaurants close by. We really enjoyed looking through the antique shops. If we go back in the summer, we will definitely go to Arnold's Park.
