Louisiana Bayou

A May 2003 trip to Louisiana by BAYOUCAJUN

Because it's my husband's home state, we try to visit once a year or more. The food and atmosphere are wonderful any time of year.

Overview

It's always fun to take a chance at winning some extra cash or vehicle at the Casino. The restaurants are outstanding and reasonably priced. The casino is also child friendly, unlike some that don't allow children to even eat in the restaurants because they have to cross the casino floor.

Quick Tips:

Take plenty of spending loot. Register for your points card; after you earn a certain amount of dollars, you are given a certain amount of credits, which can be exchanged for either money or certificates to the restaurants inside.

Best Way To Get Around:

If you are staying on the premises, everything is within walking distance.

Attraction | "Live Performaces"

This place has a nice atmosphere and the sound is great, even though the place is not that large. It is also located inside the casino. A large number of people come out to see the stars.

Story/Tip

Every year we travel down to the lovely and Hot Louisiana to visit with my husband’s family. The roads are awful, but the food and fun make up for them. We visit the Paragon casino when we are in town. Although we don't walk away winners, we do walk away full and satisfied after eating at on of the several restaurants inside. The buffet is by far the best for the money; there are over 95 tasty items and on Friday night, there is a seafood buffet. If you have a hankering for some good fried crawfish, then you need to eat at Roxy's. Roxy's is a ‘50s-style diner serving classic American fare, such as shakes poured at you table. The restaurant has an open atmosphere where you can see what is going on around the casino floor. These ware the best deals for the money you pay.

The rooms in the hotel are nice and spacious. They have separate living/bedroom areas. The room we stayed in had a large bathroom with double sink, Jacuzzi/shower with glass wall surrounding, and doors on both sides with one entering into the master bedroom. Downstairs is an adult and children’s pool and also a hot tub. The pool is located in between the inside surrounding area of the hotel away from the everyday passing public, which is nice for those who enjoy their privacy.

There is also a Kids’ Quest located on the facility. This is for the smaller children who are not old enough to be left alone or unattended. The security here is excellent. You have to carry around a pager in case of emergency and they take your picture to make sure only you pick up your child. You can purchase snacks for you child if you think they will be hungry and they will have plenty to do and have fun doing it.

Cyber Quest is for older children/early teens, which is old enough to be supervised from a distance. This is a non-violent arcade center for your child. This too also follows strict security regulations.
