Holiday Getaway in Gatlinburg

We traveled to Dollywood Theme Park. The kids had a blast watching the shows. During the time we were there, the rides were closed because of the weather. But the lights were spectacular.

Quick Tips:

When you are in Gatlinburg, the best time to go around the area is early in the morning. The traffic is terrible otherwise.

Best Way To Get Around:

We stayed at the Gatlinburg Town Square Resort, so it was close to the main drag, where all the eating establishments were and shopping areas. The best way to get around would definitely be by foot. If you try to travel by car, be ready to wait in traffic.

Best Things Nearby:
We were close to all the eating establishments and outdoor shopping.

Best Things About the Resort:
The resort was a little old but nice. The best thing was the indoor pool and the activities they had for the kids.

Resort Experience:
This resort sits on a hill and is very nice. We had ample parking underneath in a parking garage. They have two pools, one outside with a whirlpool tub and the other inside. There was an activity center (which was small, but nice) that the kids could go do things at. The best thing about this resort is you could walk to where ever you needed to go. In Gatlinburg, the quickest way to get around is to walk!!!

We had talked with some people from the area and they had told us we needed to try the local bar-b-que eating establishment. Since we are from the South, that sounded good to us. So we ate at Bennetts Bar-b-que. They are famous for their bbq ribs. At least, that's what they advertise. The food was delicious, but when you are from the South, you can't beat our food. We would highly recommend this place if you like bbq.
