Tenerife, the island of sun and fun

Overview

We spent 10 days in Tenerife and tried to fit in as much as possible. We also did a multi-centre and spent the first 7 days in Los Christianos and the following 3 days in Las Americas. Two of the most enjoyable and memorable experiences were the trip to Mount Teide and the water park. We took the organised coach trip to Mount Teide and in my opinion, this is not only the easiest option but also the more factual. We also stopped on the way back at a small village and had a nice local lunch and a much-needed break in the coach journey. If you are looking for a fun day where you pay a minimal amount and can spend all day there, then the water park is the place to go. It is great for...Read More

Los Claveles

Best Things Nearby:Los Claveles is very well situated for the main town of Los Christianos -- it's about a 15-minute, pleasant walk. You can either take a stroll to the beach or you can order a taxi from the resort and to get back, there is a taxi rank just off the main strip. Close by are the main shops, restaurants ,and bars, which all have a nice view of the sea and you can easily spend a week here and not venture any further than Los Christianos. About 10 minutes away in a taxi is the Las Americas, Tenerife's liveliest resort, which suits all ages and has excellent evening entertainment from karaoke bars to nightclubs. At the harbour of Los Christianos, you can e...Read More

Best Things Nearby:Torviscas is just a few minutes from Sunset Harbour and here you can find restaurants and bars in abundance. Also, not far away is the water park, which is great for all ages as is a good way to spend a day at a good price. Also close by is Las Americas, the main town, which is great for shopping and laying by the beach. At night, Las Americas turns into a party town with lively bars and clubs, which can be very busy and loud. Harley’s Diner is just three minutes away from Sunset Harbour. If you don’t fancy walking into the town, you can go there for a meal and be entertained by the waiters who sing and make cocktails whilst you sit. Best Things ...Read More

Mount Teide

Attraction

Quote:
We visited Mount Teide early one morning on an organised excursion, and we had to catch the coach at 6:30am so we could avoid the peak times where you queue for over an hour to get on to the cable car. When you arrive at the national park (Parque Nacional De Las Ca) you will be amazed at how huge it is, and it doesn’t take long to spot Mount Teide, which rises from a volcanic crater. Teide is the highest mountain in Spain, but the surroundings are just as fascinating and has been the setting for various movies due to its moon-like appearance. There are two ways of getting near the top of Teide--either by foot or by cable car. We went up on the cable car, which opens from 9am to 4pm depending ...Read More

Pleasure Island

Attraction

Quote:
If you are tired of spending the day laying by the beach, then Pleasure Island is the perfect place to go. Its just off the main strip of veronicas and you can just walk to it, so no need for bus fares.

There was lots to do and it kept us busy for the whole day. Even if you don't like rides there is the Crazy Golf or you can sit and watch people get thrown of the rodeo bull.

In the evenings there is entertainment in the form of DECADES, a cabaret show which also offers an eat-all-you-like buffet, and all your drinks are included, too. We really enjoyed the show and all the rides were open in the evening, so we could do both.
