We left the cold, snow-packed Minnesota landscape for a warm, sunny, whale-watching week in Kauai.

Very nice accomodations close to a beach. Large two bedroom unit with a lanai, washer/dryer, full kitchen, and two bathrooms. A sand beach pool with poolside snack bar/bar, and adults only hot tub completed the stay.

The ambiance was great; open air dining, great food, exotic drinks, and superb service. Before or after dinner you can shop in exclusive shops that take up the rooms in this renovated plantation home.

This adventure included kayaking/hiking/rope swings/a zip line/trailer ride. A very well led tour.

We kayaked up the river for, I think, 4 miles (we had never kayaked before and we made it, so it's suitable for beginners). After leaving the kayaks, we hiked through the rain forest and stopped occasionally by a waterfall to jump in the pool and cool off.

We were taken by a tractor pulled wagon beneath a beautiful set of mountains where Jurasic Park was filmed. We saw wild bore and peacocks. We at lunch at the base of a beautiful waterfall and then could take the zip line across the river. The guides were very well informed and made the trip. Plenty of drinks were provided and a very suitable lunch.
