We reserved a presidential suite through RCI. Unfortunately, upon first check-in, they only gave us one side of the room. A fold-down bed and a concrete couch were not going to be enough for privacy for four unless we were all very close. (Presidential suites come with two rooms.) After about an hour’s worth of explanation and waiting, they admitted their mistake and gave us both sides of the suite. Make sure you check your reservation for such mistakes. The furniture. . . well, we are not sure they replaced the mattresses after the hurricane. Every time you lifted the sheets, they smelled musty and slightly moldy. It could just be the weather there. The fold-down bed for our guest couple was more like a box spring than a mattress; good thing we brought the blow-up mattress along. The good thing is that they had a nice big refrigerator and a nice size kitchenette. We needed non-stick cookware though! We just walked down to Mega and bought whatever we needed. It was so nice and close to the Malecon -- who could complain about that -- with great views of the ocean from the 16th floor and up (we were on the 19th).

The grounds are beautiful and the people are wonderful. The Sunday brunch should not be missed (go listen to the timeshare presentation and it’s free).

Resort Experience:
What a hassle. Yeah, they have shuttles to the city bus stop, that get there right after the bus leaves. Just to get to town at a decent hour, you had to leave by 7:45am. They have activities that you have to pay $30-$70 per person per activity to attend. The rooms with adjoining doors to other suites...well, let's just say you don't want a father with a loud New York accent staying next door. There was supposed to be sleeping for six, privacy for four. Well, the master suite was nice, but the other people in our party would have had to sleep on rock-hard village people couches or a 4-inch foam mattress that pulled out from underneath the couch. Wow...good thing for that blowup mattress again.

Wow, what a great place! I have never seen so many people move so fast and work so hard to serve you. This place was outstanding! The drinks are huge and the service is spectacular. Don't miss this place!!!

Horseback RidingBest of IgoUgo

Attraction

This is like nothing you have ever experienced on a US horseback trail ride. Even I had a great ride and I have ridden for 20+ years. The saddles are Mexican saddles and a little wide in the seat. Try folding the pad over (so it is doubled over between your legs) -- don't worry, your butt will be fine.
