Relax In Aruba

A March 2002 trip to Aruba by wilke1219

Aruba is the most fantastic place in the world with the friendliest people you will find anywhere. Fun, sun, snorkeling and fishing can fill your days, or just spend your days drinking Aruba Aribas and lying on wonderful sand beaches.

Best Things Nearby:
Beaches to snorkle, casino, restaurants

Best Things About the Resort:
Friendly accommodating staff, beautiful condo, swimming pool with swim-up bar and wonderful sand beach. Equipment rental for enjoying beach on location as well as shopping

Resort Experience:
The Ocean Club is the BEST!!! Large condo units, multiple pools to use as well as spas, health club, and casino on premises.

The restaurants have specialty nights with great food. The dinner show is a must see if you haven't been to Carnival, as it is a good representation of Carnival without the crowds. The casino gives you your money's worth!! I have never found a more accommodating staff, as they will do anything for you to make your vacation more enjoyable.

The units are clean, large, and the decks are a wonderful plus to enjoy your evening cocktail looking at a beautiful sunset. Shopping is on premises for your convenience as well as a sports bar and swim up pool bar. We have stayed here many times and have never had anything mar a wonderful trip to a wonderful island. Be ready to lay back and relax!!

Restaurant | "El Gaucho"

This restaurant is a must to go to for the best steaks you will find anywhere. The service is fantastic and the food reflects the value received. Reservations are needed, as the waiting list is long. The portions are large enough to enjoy your leftovers the next day. I recommend this restaurant for anyone traveling to Aruba.

Attraction

We like going off on our own so we are not limited by times of tour operators. We take equipment with us, but rentals are available everywhere. The fish are beautiful and varied no matter where you go. We go to the beach just down from the high-rise hotels/condos, packing a lunch, and spend the afternoon at leisure. We have also gone to DePalm Island, which has fantastic (very large, blue) fish. Baby Beach is also a favorite if you are new to snorkeling, as the water is shallow and the environment is very safe. It also has a snack bar where you can get lunch for a very reasonable price (a chicken dinner for under $5.00) and beer or pop. I have snorkeled many places, but Aruba is the best by far.
