In the words of Robert Louis Stevenson (poet), "Edinburgh is what Paris ought to be - its magnificent architecture shifts from the lofty buildings of its medieval Old Town, as they tumble down the spine of the Royal Mile, to the grace of the Georgian New Town. Above it all, in its towering splendour, stands the Castle." I find his statement true, in that every step really is a revelation. I found this gothic city packed with mysterious alleyways which reveal ancient courtyards or walking around a sharp wynd, which gave us a whole new panorama to explore!
Quick Tips:
All of us should know that Edinburgh is world-famous for festivals, so you should definitely take in at least one of them. Check out
Eventful Edinburgh for more details on their festivals.
Best Way To Get Around:
I found it rather easy just walking everywhere in Edinburgh. The best walk is the Royal Mile, which will take you from the Edinburgh Castle to the Palace of Holyrood House at the opposite end.
