My husband and I stayed at the Ritz on Grand Bahama Island. I would highly recommend the island. One week was not enough. The hotel is a different story. . .

Best Things About the Resort:

Resort Experience:
The check-in process took over an hour, and we were the third in line. The air conditioning was not working, and when we told them, they brushed us off. We had to sit around the hotel the first couple of hours while they "found" their mechanic. The restaurant on the property was awful. The server was so rude that had he been in the U.S., he would have been fired on the spot. The hotel had no elevator, so we had to carry everything up three flights of stairs.

I do recommend going to the Grand Bahama Island. It was the best place I have been to. The beaches are amazing, with white sand and clear water. The shopping was so much fun. The kayaking should never be missed. There was a cruise called "The Bahama Mama" or something like that. It was a triple-decker, and once you paid to get on, you could drink all you wanted and eat from the appetizers. It was a party boat. They cruised along the shores for a couple of hours playing really good music while people danced and drank.

The scuba was the best I ever experienced. There is one dive where you get to swim with sharks (about 30 of them). You have probably seen it on the news sometime. The instructor, wearing mesh, feeds them meat. So all of them from the area come. You are about 70 feet underwater. The sharks are about 7-8 feet long. They bump you with their tails. The stingray I saw had to be 5 feet at least.

Renting a moped was so much fun! Remember, drive on the left. We took one to the casino and some downtown shopping.

This is a great island to go to. I highly recommend the island. I do not recommend the resort.
