The resort is a little piece of paradise on the south side of the island on Davis Bay. The best thing nearby is NOTHING...it is remote and quiet and a wonderful place to get away from it all.
Best Things About the Resort:
Carambola is on a beautiful beach with immaculate grounds. It is a sizable resort with many two-story units peppered along the beach. Walking the grounds, you smell the salt of the ocean and the sweet smell of blooming flora. The best thing about this resort is that it is on a lovely stretch of beach, it is quiet, remote and beautiful.
Resort Experience:
The grounds of this resort are a tropical paradise. The rooms are decorated in island chic with native fabrics and woods. The second-floor units have vaulted ceilings, which makes them seem quite large. All units have a separate sitting area and come equipped with a mini-fridge and safe. If you want to get away from it all, this is the place. If you want a nice base for touring, this is not where you want to be. The food service was experiencing a management change and was in need of attention (pricey and mediocre). If the resort can correct this one serious imperfection, it will truly be a five-star.
