Bear Sightings

A September 2003 trip to Whistler by Haruyo

Quote: Whistler has undergone tremendous expansion in the variety of shops, dining, activities, etc. The highlight of my trip was actually following a mother black bear and her two cubs. The scenery was green and lush and the mountain view fantastic.

I stayed in a three-bedroom, multi-level timeshare. It was spacious; however, there are a lot of stairs to climb. The hot tub was located outside on a lower deck. A BBQ was also available.

Much of the trip upwards is along a narrow, winding highway heavily surrounded by tall trees and high rock walls which makes viewing the lakes below a little difficult except where there is a break in the trees, so be alert for those Kodak moments. Stop at the local Tim Hortons in Squamish for a short break, but take the time to look all around you. Whis...Read More
