Orlando With Our Mothers

A January 2004 trip to Orlando by btrivers

Quote: We just returned from a trip to the Orlando with our mothers. It is recommended to travel to Orlando in January/February to avoid crowds. There are no theme park lines! When fathers don't like to travel, we recommend this as a great way to treat your mothers!

Best Things Nearby:Celebration town, Universal Studios (20 minutes driving), Old Town, Disney World, Factory OutletsBest Things About the Resort:- small, friendly, lots of family activies (e.g. free ice cream sundae making) - hot tub - large living space and kitchen area; freshly renovated insideResort Experience:Orbit One has been around for a long time, and has a very relaxed, friendly attitude, partly because it is a smaller resort. Although it looks its age on the outside, the inside of the units are freshly renovated and quite beautiful and comfortable. The only recommendation is to get better cookware and cooking utensils (we bought a fry...Read More

Dinner and a movie - $20; what a deal! The food and atmosphere is great. The decor is centered around a dance floor with a ceiling of stars and a backdrop of mountains. This is simply a beautiful town to walk and shop in, with a lovely waterfront and many restaurants, that you can go to free of charge (no charge for parking) for a relaxing afternoon/evening. It is located on Disney land off of 192 near the Highway 4 intersection. It gives a small-town feel, but is located just off of the 192 main strip. What a good way to get away from the chain restaurants, flea markets and strip malls!
