The Cable Experience

An August 2003 trip to Cable by GlennJr

This was our first experience with this resort. It's a great outdoor experience for the hiker. It is also the site of the world championship bike race.

There were many things for the outdoor person to do, but they also had a movie night at the resort.

Quick Tips:

When staying at this resort, be prepared to see wildlife walk up to your building. We saw many animals in the wild on the trails and wish we had remembered to bring our camera.

Best Way To Get Around:

If you want a lot of action, this is not in the city, but it's on a mountain with great majestic views and absolutely the best bike trails I have ever seen.

The rooms at our one-bedroom condo were very large and easily slept the four of us. The washer/dryer was much needed from the walking and swimming excursions. The room has views of the hiking/biking trails that surround this resort. With a screened-in porch, we were able to watch the many species of wildlife without interfering with them.

Restaurant

The food at the Telemark Resort was of excellent quality, but the staff was terribly overworked and had problems keeping up. The surrounding community, from other resorts to dining in Hayward, was excellent in both the proportions and value.
