Lounging in the Lake District

An August 2002 trip to Keswick by lisalund

A holiday in the Lake District!

  • 3 reviews
Keswick and the Lake District are loaded with B&Bs. We shopped around on the web and were very happy with our choice. From strolling through the neighborhoods, it seemed like you couldn't go wrong. We stayed with a nice Scottish couple and their Puli. The rooms were clean and breakfast big.

Attraction

You just have to go! This museum pays homage to the lowly pencil. Cumbria is the birthplace of your favorite writing instrument. Be sure to see the world's largest pencil and the pencil spy-ware. This is a great way to spend a rainy afternoon.
Check it out Pencil Museum.

Attraction | "Hiking around Keswick"

Hiking in Cumbria is a must. The scenery is gorgeous and the air is clean. There are several different routes you can take. We walked to the next village for lunch and a pint. There are also some historic sites to check out.
