Temples and loads of em.... warm the winter chills away with a 'onsen' hot spring.... Visit the wonderful Japanese countryside, despite the Japanese governments efforts to the opposite it remains a beautiful and stunning landscape intertwined with a fascinating history.

Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

Train train and train again, if you can afford it the bullet train is the only way to go baby, otherwise check out the overnight buses and save on a night's (usually hefty) accommodation charge and its much cheaper than the train..... In fact flying is sometimes cheaper.

A curry restaurant whose owner loves trains so much he turned his modest curry shop into a shrine for all things on rails. For a truly original dining experience, slide back into one of the train seats and wait for the 8.40 from the kitchen to arrive at your table carrying your plate of fine curry. Kids even get a bullet train plate!!!!

To get there take the Toyoku line from Shibuya; it's only a couple of stops. It's pretty easy to find from the station, but if in doubt just ask someone for the Curry Train restaurant!!!!

See the urban sprawl in all its splendour. Witness the organised chaos of Tokyo spread out under you, and best of all its free. You can go up until 9 at night, and it's one of the best locations to see the new year sunrise!!!
