Los Gauchos (Argentine Beef) - great ambiance, great staff, great food and world class.
Right in Philipsburg,
Captain Oliver's Restaurant & Marina at Oyster Pond - an outstanding Saturday night lobster buffet, everything from the sea, plus lamb, pork, beef, ribs and a dessert boat. Neither of these restaurants should be missed if you're in Sint Maarten.
Best Things About the Resort:
This is a 32-unit timeshare, excellent staff, right on the beach, world-class shopping right out the front door.
Resort Experience:
One of the nicer, warm, quiet islands, with friendly people. Many things to do, from diving to snorkeling, to great boat outings, personal watercraft, parasailing and some nice casinos.
Great eating places, from rustic beach cafes in Grand Case, to fine French dining in Marigot, to seafood in Oyster Pond, to great beef in Philipsburg and nice waterfront dining in Simpsons Bay.
Also, there are a number of close-by islands to visit that are quite unique in their own right, from St Barths to Saba to Anquilla to Tintamare.
We were there for two weeks and had full days each day.
If you're going with young or old children, there is a fine zoo and a butterfly farm that is great!
