Cabo

A July 2003 trip to Cabo San Lucas by majorprops

The city of Cabo San Lucas is very different from the "resort corridor". If you are looking for peace and quiet, opt for the corridor. If you are looking for excitement, opt for the city. Golf gets an A+, dining an A+, and ease of air access an A-.

Best Things Nearby:
Restaurants, shopping, tours.

Best Things About the Resort:
Location, security.

Resort Experience:
This is a busy place, but in a good sense. Access is tightly controlled, which gives a greater feeling of security. Concierge is very willing to arrange dinner reservations and can get you a better deal.

Cabo Wabo CantinaBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant

Great food. An oasis of unique menu choices among the local sea of Mexican offerings. Beer and mixed drinks are expnsive. Quality and quantity of food is tremendous. You may run into Sammy Hagr there, which we did. He was accommodating and took pictures with us. The nightclub portion of this establishment really hops at night. It is the place to be for people-watching and dancing.

Good breakfast, very inexpensive. You must try the chilaquiles for breakfast. Wash them down with a Pacifico. Mimosas are a good value, very large.

This is also a kid-friendly place. They will accommodate finicky children's palates as much as possible.

Three tacos and a Corona: $5 USD

Staff is very friendly and will successfully keep you in food and drink for as long as you can stand it.

Frequent visitors, residents, and fishermen recommended this place to me.

Very, very good tacos. You have choices as to what meat you would like in your tacos (fish, chorizo sausage, beef, chicken, shrimp). Three tacos and a beer is $5 USD. Happy hour is 2-for-1. Sit upstairs. The view of people on the street is interesting.

Beaches of Cabo San Lucas & Cabo San JoseBest of IgoUgo

Attraction | "the neverending beaches"

Beautiful, not crowded, cooperative weather year-round. Be careful in the surf and make sure you swim in swimming-safe areas only. Don't kid yourself into thinking that you can handle the surf because you are a good swimmer. You can't. Plus, there are submerged rocks. Do not go into the water unless you are on a "swimming beach."

Attraction

Spectacular views from every hole. You can see the Sea of Cortes from every hole. Three holes run down to, along, and back from the Cortes. This course is a must-play at least once in a lifetime, as is any course in the Cabo area.
