Hostel of the Rocky Mountains

Hotel | "Hostel of the Rocky Mountains--HIAYH"

For a hostel, it seemed more like a bed-and-breakfast. Although we were two guys, we had to share a double bed. We couldn't complain, though, because of its proximity to Colfax Ave. and the Streets of London Pub, where we ended up. For the $15/night per person and the free breakfast in the morning, it was well worth it.

Las Margaritas

Restaurant

Very clean Mexican restaurant with a decent selection and friendly staff. We had a burrito and an enchilada each. Very good meal for $10 per person after tax and tip.

Appaloosa Grill

Restaurant

Very friendly staff and good food. Bar/grille atmosphere.

We were both starving, so we walked back to 16th St. and found the Appaloosa Grill, where I had awesome tamales and the waitress spilled roast beef juice on Aaron. She almost cried, but we got her to laugh by asking what she would have done if Aaron started screaming at her and ran out.

Streets of London Pub

Attraction

We arrived in Denver and checked into our hostel at 9:30pm. Both of us took showers and were out looking for bars by 10:30. We found Streets of London right away and were drawn in by the outside patio and the young crowd. As soon as we got in, we realized that it was $2 for any drink you wanted and all the music was hard rock/heavy metal. The people were extremely friendly and we stayed until the bar closed (15 drinks each later).

16th Street Mall

Attraction | "16th Street Outdoor Mall"

This is the coolest outdoor mall ever, with a free shuttle constantly up and down the street. We hung out between Virgin Records and Forever 21 so that we could rest. Aaron took a nap while I mentally made a list of the girls whose bodies didn’t deserve to be wearing skimpy or tight clothes from Forever 21.
