Winter in the city that never sleeps. The air is crisp and full of excitement, and there is a long list of exciting things to see and experience, and the food is to die for!

New York is one of my favorite cities on earth. The dining is superb, the people are down to earth and funny, and the shops are unique. Add to that an incredible music scene, a fast pace, and fantastic bars and clubs, and you will never want to leave.

Quick Tips:

If you are in Soho, do try to have brunch/lunch at the infamous Balthazar. Although a bit pricey, the food is sublime (try the lobster), the service amazing, and I love the design. It's a veritable New York institution.

Also, the knishes at Katz's Deli near the Lower East Side are amazing. I was able to scarf down three before my friend dragged me away. Plus they are open late, which is a plus for us night owls! Also, the bars in that neighborhood are the best.

Best Way To Get Around:

Taxis are so cheap in New York, it's ridiculous! The subway is a great, efficient way to get around, but try not to get caught in the quick closing doors! The trains are very fast -- they can jet you out to Brooklyn in just a few minutes. My personal favorite way of transport is to simply walk . . . what better way to see such a beautiful city.

A massive museum, with a plethora of art to soak in, from sculpture, to paintings, to costumes and textiles. I loved the Egyptian art, and the curators were very knowledgeable and friendly. They also host a series of concerts and lectures on occasion. Its proximity to Central Park makes for a great day trip! My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, but it can be tiring and overwhelming!
