Romance in Acapulco

A December 2002 trip to Acapulco by DancingGypsy

Hands down the most romantic place that I have ever been. There is an air of a bygone time that makes Acapulco so interesting and romantic.

Hotel | "Mayan Palace Resort"

The entrance of the Mayan Palace Acapulco is breathtaking. I have never been more impressed by the lobby of a vacation resort. The pool is one of the longest in the world (over a mile long). The ocean is a within a hundred feet of the resort. The rooms are spacious and bright. The rooms are decorated very tastefully. The staff is wonderful. I have been to this resort twice and would highly recommend at least one trip to this beautiful resort.

A beautiful vacation resort. The rooms were bright and spacious. The one-bedroom could sleep six people comfortably. The restaurant is absolutely wonderful. This is a sister property of Mayan Palace. It is less luxurious but still very nice. There is also a free shuttle between Mayan Palace and Sea Garden so you can visit both property's restaurants.

Restaurant

Your waiter caters to your every need from the moment that you walk into the open air restaurant. The view of Acapulco Bay is breathtaking. This is the most romantic place that I have ever been to.

Tramonto Restaurant is located in the Mayan Palace resort in Acapulco. Their specialty is seafood. The lobster was excellent! This is an open air restaurant with a wonderful view of the ocean.

This is a fun place to visit. The food is good, the price is right, and the ambiance is fun. They need more waiters to understand/speak English. This is definitely a tourist place geared towards Americans.

Restaurant | "Hard Rock Cafe"

If you're missing American hamburgers and french fries, this is the place to go while in Acapulco. The restaurant is a carbon copy of what you will find in the U.S., so the decor is no surprise. The food is good but a little pricey.

Story/Tip

Excellent outfit to charter a boat for deep sea fishing. We went out for a whole day and when my boyfriend didn't catch anything they offered to take us out fishing again for free. We accepted and this time we both caught fish. I caught an eight foot, 130 pound sailfish. My boyfriend caught a four foot, 40 pound Dorado (Mahi Mahi). It was a wonderful experience.
