Flying through Baltimore

An October 2003 trip to Baltimore by cassidy90

Quote: We recently flew out of Baltimore going on our honeymoon. We also end up coming through there once in a while for other various reasons. It's a nice city with a lot to offer.

Holiday Inn Express-BWI Airport West

Hotel | "Holiday Inn Express"

The accommodations were just like every other Holiday Inn. The bathroom and room were clean. Everybody was pleasant to deal with and checking in and out was very easy. The great part of this place is the packages they offer. We used the park-and-fly package, and it more than paid for itself. They allow you to leave your vehicle there for free for up to two weeks. BWI charges over $10 a day to leave your car onsite. When we returned, the car was exactly where we left it and hadn't been tampered with, so I don't think there are many safety concerns. The hotel is in a nice area, although not close to downtown. It is about 12 miles away from the Inner Harbor, but it's not a bad drive. There is ...Read More

City Lights Restaurant

Restaurant | "Capitol City Brewhouse"

Capitol City is located right in the Inner Harbor of downtown Baltimore. It is in a nice location, with tables looking out over the harbor. It is in the upper level of the mall that stretches around.

The food was good, but not great. I have definitely had much better seafood from the Chesapeake Bay. Their microbrew beers were very good. I don't know if I would recommend this spot, because the quality of the food and service were not equal to the price you're paying. There are too many other good places around the Harbor to eat.

Cafe di Roma

Restaurant

Quote:
I came through Baltimore on business once and stopped in at this little restaurant for lunch with a friend. Cafe di Roma is a great Italian place. They have a nice lunch menu with delicious, filling sandwiches. The waitress was ultra-nice. She chatted for a while and actually gave us some cookies from their counter display when we left. The cookies on display all looked great, and the ones we had were. It's in a nice area in the Little Italy district of Baltimore. Only about a 5-minute walk east of the Inner Harbor, this restaurant is definitely worth trying out for lunch after working up an appetite walking.
