Wild and Wonderful West Virginia

A July 2003 trip to Davis by momone53

We stayed at the Land of Canaan Resort. We did not think that there would be much to do in the summer, but we were quite suprised. We hiked, rode horseback, and explored the caverns and caves.

Best Things Nearby:
Two state parks are very close: Canaan Valley State Park and Blackwater Falls State Park. It is also close to Seneca Caverns and Dolly Sods.

Best Things About the Resort:
It was a small, quiet group of townhouses in a beautiful mountain setting.

Resort Experience:
The two-bedroom townhouse was quite roomy. It had a working fireplace and a huge garden tub. The furnishings were adequate, but could have used some updating. The kitchen was nicely equipped and the unit had a mud room that contained a washer and dryer.

The amenities included a small pool and hot tub, a miniature golf course, tennis courts, and horseshoe pits. We made use of the pool and tennis courts everyday.
