Quick Tips:

The "Freedom Trail" was fantastic for history buffs like us. A three-mile tour of the sites of the American Revoluation. 16 sites beginning at the Boston common and ending at the Bunker Hill Monument. You can do a self-guided tour or be led by NPservice rangers from the National Historic Park Visitor Center at 15 State Street. Accommodations in Boston were scarce so we stayed in Waltham, which is about 20 minutes outside the city. We drove to Alewife "T" station and took it all the way into the middle of Boston.

Best Way To Get Around:

Use the "T" or the MBTA Rapid Transit System to get in and around Boston. It's inexpensive and easy to use. Once you're in Boston, be sure to walk the "Freedom Trail". We did a self guided tour of some of the most historical locations of our country. Including Paul Revere's home. Pictures coming soon.

Room was fine, it featured the "heavenly" shower head and amenities like down comforter were nice. The service wasn't very good however. First they gave us a single king bed when we requested a double queen. The bell boy was not friendly and was very cold to us the two days we were there. The front desk gave us directions to the "T" station, but neglected to give us directions to the "T" station that would take us into Boston, which we had requested. After getting lost and driving 20 minutes the wrong way we realized they must have given us incorrect directions. We got better directions from the clerk at a nearby gas station. I expected better customer service from a Westin.

Make the trip to Framingham, which is only about 45 minutes from Boston. Because of its humble exterior, you'd almost drive right past this Italian icon that has been around for over 40 years. A slice of their pizza is only about a buck, but you won't believe the amount of flavor they can pack into it. Picture coming soon

Restaurant

We took the recommendation of a local chef to try the ricotta pie at Modern Pastry, and boy were we glad we did. Best ricotta pie you'll ever taste. Stop here for any desert and you'll be pleased. Photos coming soon

Restaurant

The line is long to get into Giacomo's, but for good reason. The eatery is small and packed full of people in for a real treat of authentic Italian food. The seafood is outstanding, so no matter what you pick off the chalkboard menu, you'll be happy. The staff is friendly and helpful. Arrive early before the dinner rush to avoid waiting outside for very long. Pictures coming soon.
