Our First Getaway

A February 2003 trip to Cozumel by Okla.Darrell

My wife and I spent a week last Feburary at the Reef Club in Cozumel, a four and a half-star hotel, on Valentines Day. This was our first vacation and our first honeymoon. We bought our points there and we will be going back this next February for a full 14 nights.

Overview

There are many things to do there with the longest beach on the island. They offer several things. The best way to find out is to go to this website. This will give you more than what I can put into words.

Best Way To Get Around:

There are several ways to get around. They offer scooter and car rental at the hotel. There is also taxi station on location. The taxi fare is each way to town and back.

Restaurant | "Reef Club Cozumel"

The hotel is all-inclusive, therefore you do not pay for meals. The hotel has three places to eat--one buffet, a French restaurant (casual dress), and a private one for members only. That one is a dress up restaurant. The food is all good, but we liked the buffet the best. There is also a snack bar with drinks, hamburgers, hot dogs, and chips. We did not have a bad meal anywhere.

This is an all-inclusive resort. This restaurant has not only specialty dining but also romantic and fine dining. The lights are kept low and they have very good service from the staff. This is one of three restaurants. See others listed.

This is a membership only restaurant with international specialties menu. It is an exclusive a la carte menu with a spectacular ocean view. You can eat either inside or covered outside, with great service no matter where you choose to sit.

The La Casona is a buffet restaurant with Mexican and international cuisine. It is open for continental breakfast from 6 to 7am. Buffet breakfast 7 to 11am, buffet lunch 12:30 to 3:30pm, and buffet dinner 6 to 10:30pm. This is also all-inclusive with the hotel.
