Biaggi's RistoranteBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant

Biaggi's is tucked away in an office park area with a couple other upscale restaurants. The service was great. They had a great wine selection and nice atmosphere. We had a group of ten and were put in a party room toward the back.

The food is classic Italian with some innovative twists. I has a port tenderloin with grappa soaked cherries. The salads were big enough to share. We enjoyed several deserts to share. The creme brulee and white chocolate bread pudding were by far the best.

RunzaBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant

When in Nebraska, you must have a Runza. They are everywhere. It is a fast food chain, but only in that part of the country. A runza is a mini loaf or bread or a roll filled with meat, cabbage, and spices and baked. It is so yummy. The Runza french fries are extra good crinkle-cut-style. They also have hamburgers, chicken strips and other fast food stand-bys. There frozen custard is really good, too. The chocolate is extra fudgy and creamy.

Rick's is newly opened along the Missouri River and under a bunch of highway interchanges in a formerly industrial area in Omaha. We went for brunch, and they had a nice selection of items like eggs benedict and yummy beignets served with straberry puree or maple syrup. The menu has a New Orleans flair to it with come creole items. The biscuits and gravy were great.

A trip in the fall to Nebraska must include a University of Nebraska football game. Memorial Staduim seats 78,000 fans all dressed in red to support the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The crowd is friendly and the game is great.

The stadium, unlike most other college stadiums, has Husker Vision, large screen TVs to watch replays and the like. They also have a weiner gun, an airgun that shoots hotdogs into the crowd. It's just silly. If your lucky enough to get invited to a tailgate, the day is really complete.

Old MarketBest of IgoUgo

Attraction

Omaha preserved this historic section of town, where people stroll along the cobbled streets and explore the many preserved buildings from the 19th century in Italianate, Richardsonian Romanesque, and Louis Sullivan-style. The 5-block area is filled with shops, restaurants, galleries and apartments. There is a wonderful bakery and a few coffee bars and regular bar pubs for a fun gathering of nightlife.
