Overview

This vacation was great for relaxing at the condo and hiking (or walking) on the many nature trails in the area. There was everything from hiking to see mountain waterfalls to combing the beach for seashells.

Quick Tips:

There are a few "don't miss" places on Vancouver Island. The first is Butchart Gardens. These were the most beautiful gardens I have ever seen. Even the kids tolerated it fairly well. The second is Pacific Rim Park. It is beautiful and wild. There were many nice hiking trails in and around the park.

Best Way To Get Around:

A car is the only was to get around the island. There is nothing within walking distance of the resort and I only remember seeing busses run in Victora.

Best Things Nearby:
Parksville is centrally located on the island. There is easy access to Victora to the south, the Pacific Rim Park to the east, and salmon fishing to the north.

Best Things About the Resort:
The grounds of the timeshare are absolutely beautiful. There is a wonderful nature walk along the bay front that is great for a sunset stroll.

Resort Experience:
The resort itselt is beautiful. There is tremendous care taken in keeping up the flowers and shrubs. There are many benches to sit and relax on, both near the water and in the middle of a cultivated garden. There was an indoor pool, which was great since the weather is cooler than what we are accustomed to, and an outdoor hottub. There was also a nice playground and lots of open grounds for the kids to play on.

The accommodations themselves were perfect. The room was large enough to accommodate seven people with no problems. We were on the bottom floor and had no problem with the people overhead. They were adults with no kids, but overall it was very quiet.

The resort offered a breakfast where they discussed things to do in the area. Later in the week there was a get together where we all brought one dish. For a vacation where we had four kids along, it was amazingly relaxing.
