An October 2003 trip to Deerfield Beach by kellylizzy

Day one we relaxed on the beach. Day two I went to Lion Country Safari Day and took a water taxi intercoastal to Ft. Lauderdale. Day three I went to Alligator Alley, Sanibel, Captiva via Rt. 41 loop road. Day four was a day at the beach. Day five went to Barefoot Bay with grandma. Day six went to Vero Beach with uncle Sam and aunt Vera. Day seven I returned home.

Best Things About the Resort:
It was on the beach!

Resort Experience:
This timeshare is a small one--13 units in all, which made it very personal. The unit we stayed in, which was #11, is not listed as oceanfront or ocean view, but you do have a view from the living room and right outside your door on the balcony. It is a nice timeshare, but since it is small, it doesn't have many activities or amenities. There is a pool, and they were putting in a spa tub while we were there, but we don't usually hang out at the timeshares anyway, so we didn't care.

Lion Country SafariBest of IgoUgo

Attraction

This safari was really great. We weren't sure what to expect, but we were pleased that we got our money's worth. At the gate where you pay, they give you a CD or tape explaining what animals you will be seeing while you drive through the safari, which we really enjoyed. You have to drive slow, but you really want to, and we stopped many times and just sat and looked at the animals. The day we went, it wasn't that busy--it was on a Tuesday, and it also rained a few times. When you are done with the safari drive, you then park and walk around and you see birds and other smaller animals. There are paddle boats and small rides for children. They have a nice gift shop and snack bar/resturant. We really enjoyed this day and would definitely do it again.
