In my experience as a timeshare owner, the amenities at Orange Lake are unequaled. The first year that I stayed here after buying my unit in 1991, we mistakenly purchased the five-day passes for Disney World. Never again!!! If you plan on spending all your time at the local attractions, don't waste your money on Orange Lake; it will only rob you of the experience of enjoying this excellent resort. You can spend the entire week without ever leaving the grounds and still have one of the most enjoyable and relaxing vacations you've ever had. I enjoyed it so much, that I bought a second week at Orange Lake three years ago. This journal is devoted entirely to Orange Lake. I want the reader to get an in...Read More

The Pools: Orange Lake Country Club has expanded significantly since I first bought there in 1991 The Pools: Orange Lake Country Club has expanded significantly since I first bought there in 1991. At that time, West Village was the only section constructed. It is the location of the 80-acre Orange Lake, the Olympic-sized main swimming pool and a smaller kidney-shaped pool. Since then, North Village has opened, and they are now in the construction phase of East Village. West Village: West Village is the home of the main pool area at Orange Lake. This includes one of the largest pools that I have seen anywhere. The main pool area also provides an out...Read More

Water Rentals Orange Lake: Orange Lake, the namesake of the resort, is an 80-acre lake adjacent to West Village. The lake is next the main check-in and recreation center and West Village main pool complex. The lake includes a beach area with lounge chairs, tether ball, a beach volleyball court, and the boathouse. Rentals: The boathouse is the rental area for the main water activities on the lake. These include jet ski rental, mini-boat rentals, paddle boats, and water skiing activities. All of these activities are fee-based with reduced rates for timeshare owners. The prices have increased each year that I have been there, but the jet skis rent for ...Read More

rec areas Miniature Golf: Two eighteen hole golf courses are located in West Village at the main pool complex. If your family enjoys miniature golf, then I would suggest the weekly pass. For $23 dollars you can purchase a weekly pass that allows up to eight people/unit to play as often as they like. Your only other option is paying $3/game. The weekly rate is well worth the price. For an additional registration fee, you can elect to play in one of the two tournaments that are offered on a weekly basis; one of these is Midnight Madness, all lights are turned off, the holes and balls are lighted. This is one of my family's favorite activities while at Orange La...Read More

olpros Ok, so now you've seen the place and maybe you're interested in buying at Orange Lake. As I said in previous sections of this journal, I now own two units here, so there are obviously many pros, but there are also some cons. Pros: Maintenance Fees: I have certainly shopped around at other timeshare locations and I believe the maintenance fees at Orange Lake to be competitive with the rest of the market. I have owned here for 12 years now and the although the fees have increased slightly each year they are still among the most reasonable in the industry. My unit costs around $450/year with an additional $80 in taxes. This may ...Read More
