We also went deep-sea fishing. That trip was a big disappointment. We had booked a 5-hour trip, but when we got to the dock (at 6am), there were no 5-hour boats available. We ended up taking an 8-hour trip (it was that or nothing), but the fishing was really slow. There was another couple sharing the boat and only two fish were caught all day. Several other boats did much better, so there were fish to be caught that day. However, we did take some of the fish back to our hotel restaurant and they prepared it for our dinner. It was delicious!
Quick Tips:
Watch out for the timeshare salesman at the airport! We thought we had successfully avoided them, but a man offered to get us a cab, blah, blah, blah. He blatantly lied about not being connected with any timeshare and charged us for a taxi that took us to the wrong place. We had to find another taxi after we tried to check in. I had also paid him for 2 rounds of golf for my boyfriend, as he had told us the course was right next door to our hotel. Wrong! Fortunately our hotel timeshare people reimbursed us for the foolishly wasted there. They were great. We stayed at Club Casa Dorada, which is part of the Melia Los Cabos Hotel.
Heads up, RCI: the taxi drivers do not know the resorts by the names you use. You should inform your guests to use the hotel names. Once we learned this, we had a much easier time getting around.
Best Way To Get Around:
There was a free shuttle from our hotel into Cabo San Lucas. It was on a set schedule and dropped you off near downtown. We used it quite a bit, but sometimes the schedule didn't work for our plans. We utilized the public bus on several occasions and it was fine, as long as you referred to your destination by the hotel name! The morning of our fishing trip we had to leave quite early so a taxi was our only choice. That little ride cost us .
We would have loved to have a shuttle into San Jose, but we took the bus there too, and it worked out fine.
